Bake some grilled chicken breast using this chili sauce recipe to baste the chicken. Good with roast beef, hamburgers, meatloaf or meatballs.
Ingredients:
1 - 32oz can crushed Tomatoes
1 medium Onion, chopped
1/4 cup chopped sweet red pepper
1 clove garlic, pressed
1 or 2 tsp crushed dried hot red pepper
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 Tbl Salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp each of Cinnamon, ground cloves, allspice, celery seed and mustard seed
Directions:
Mix
all ingredients in pot and bring to boil. Boil rapidly, stirring
occasionally, for 30 minutes. Allow the mixture to cool then process it
in a blender. Return to the heat and gently simmer for another 30
minutes or until it reaches the desired consistency.
Makes 3 to 4 cups of sauce. Store in jars in refrigerator. Sauce keeps well.
